Top 5 beauty treatments of 2020

2020 has been a really difficult year for everyone, the beauty industry has struggled with business closures during both lockdowns met with the rush of clients desperate to get back into their beauty routine. However, the need for beauty treatments themselves have not been diminished! In today’s blog post, I’m going to be discussing the top 5 treatments of 2020 and what’s become popular this year despite the Coronavirus outbreak.

Brow Lamination

From all my research for this blog this treatment just couldn’t stay away, who’d of thought we could have another brow treatment to enhance the look of natural brows but the beauty industry has done it again with the Brow lamination treatment. This relatively new semi-permanent treatment strengthens, sets and tints your natural brow giving the enhanced look of fuller fluffier brows for up to eight weeks!

This treatment is a two step brow perming treatment that corrects the brow shape by setting the hairs in place with a chemical solution. The first cream that is applied breaks down the bonds in the hairs allowing them to be manipulated into their new position. The second cream then rebuilds these bonds to set the new hairs in their uniformed position. This semi-permanent treatment is definitely one for me. Let’s throw away those eyebrow pencils and gels to enjoy that permanent brow perfect look without the daily work to create it.

Hydrafacial treatment

The Hydrafacial treatment is a relatively new treatment becoming increasingly popular in the beauty industry. The Hydrafacial treatment uses patented technology to cleanse, extract and hydrate the skin. Especially during the winter months hydrating the skin is so important. This treatment clears the dead skin cells in your skin, loosens your pores and prepares them for extraction using glycolic acid, salicylic acid and botanical extracts.

Many of the benefits include a more hydrated, bright and clear complexion. This treatment can also improve the appearance of aging by increasing firmness, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as brown spots and enlarged pores whilst increasing the smooth texture and tone of the skin.  If you’re loving the sound of reducing these fearful signs of aging in the skin, the hydrafacial treatment is definitely for you!

Lash Lift and Tint

We cannot talk about the popular treatments of 2020 without talking about LASHES, it goes without saying the Lash extension treatments have always been popular and will continue to be a beauty trend in the future. However, another lash treatment that has become increasingly popular is the lash lift and tint.

The Lash lift is essentially a perm of your natural lash, unlike lash extensions the lash lift alters the shape and colour of your natural lash by boosting and lifting each of your individual lashes before tinting them to gain a darker, fuller and longer looking lash. This treatment often goes hand in hand with the lash tint. The lash tint treatment includes adding a special dye to your eyelashes giving you the look of darker fuller lashes without needing the assistance of mascara.

These treatments are essential if you’re like me and value that extra time in the mornings as you generally don’t have to top up your lashes with extra eye make up to gain a great everyday look.

The Chemical Peel

If you’re looking for an instant way to improve the appearance of your skin this treatment is for you! The Chemical Peel treatment is a solution that is applied to the face to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells. The aim of this treatment is to improve the appearance of skin by reducing age spots and evening out the skin tone.

There are three different types of Chemical Peels, superficial, medium and deep. Both the superficial and medium peels are usually safe as long as they are done correctly by a licensed professional so make sure you do your research and ask lots of questions in your consultation before the treatment. These types of the treatment are not permanent and will need to be repeated to continue gaining the desired appearance of your skin.

The deeper peel is a little more risky, so again your research is essential, this type of treatment lasts longer and does not usually need to be repeated as frequently as the superficial or medium peels.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating scalpel to remove dead skin cells and unwanted hair from your face. The aim here is to make your skin smoother and more radiant, plus an added bonus this treatment can also be used to remove the short soft hairs from your face!

One main benefit of this treatment is that it provides a safe exfoliation treatment that promotes deeper product penetration. This boosts the effects of skin care products making the skin both look and feel smoother. This is also a great treatment to reduce the appearance of acne scars.

Another benefit that really eases my nerves with these types of treatments is that it is relatively low risk with minimal side effects, you may experience some redness around your face for a few hours after the treatment and some experience a few white heads appearing one or two days after the treatment but i’ve always been told that these types of side effects are the products bringing the nastiness out of your skin which is exactly what we want to happen am I right ladies!

So there we have it: the top 5 treatments of 2020 which have you tried? And which are now on your list ready for the new year?
